Today my daughter was seen at the cardiology department within the sick children’s hospital in Glasgow, her paediatrician sent her as she has high blood pressure, we were met by a doctor who took my daughters details and suspected she may have POTS, but had to find out more as they were unsure what the test involved. The doctor went to get more advise from another doctor whoe entered the room in a very unfriendly manner and I could see by my daughters reaction she looked apprehensive of this dr, This doctor was very abrupt and when finding out my daughter suffers from CFS made it very obvious about not believing in her condition and when testing for ""so called POTS" didn’t understand why she had been referred. My daughter informed him she wanted a dog and the doctor said I think good old exercise and a dog will have you better in no time and stop you and your family focusing on all of this. I explained my daughters paediatrician has told her to get rest and I’ve been in touch with a specialist who explained the same but this doctor said most of my daughters symptoms are to do with resting! My daughter has been very ill for the past eight months and all we as a family are looking for are support not ridiculed!
"Lack of support"
