I was an in-patient for 4 days attending for DIEP breast reconstruction surgery. The team of surgeons and the breast care specialist nurses provide an excellent service and are all professional, caring, kind and extremely knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. I felt very safe in their hands.
The theatre and ward nursing staff and the physiotherapist were also good and provided clear instructions and advice......but it would be great if more staff could introduce themselves clearly and just tell you what they're going to do. This is mainly related to the surgical staff who often don't seem to wear name badges. What about 'the hello my name is' campaign?
The food isn't great but I was very appreciative of a single room with ensuite facilities and a tv. The other staff I met such as the cleaners and porters were all cheerful and that makes a difference.
Thank you very much.
