What could be improved

Orthopaedic Reception staff: Each time Ive visited the reception personnel are non co operative, cant crack a smile and are unfriendly. You feel like you should be humouring them to try to be friends, when in fact they should be putting the patients at ease, not the other way round!

Waiting room: as a patient be prepared to repeat your personal details yet again, (directly after having to do this at the reception desk literally in ear shot of each other), to the waiting room nurse, who provides no patient confidentiality whatsoever.

What about data protection, patient rights/dignity and information governance policies? Been to this department numerous times and nothing changes! Poor representation of NHS services.

Anything else?

Please provide training for your staff to meet standard policy/government guidelines, patients do not deserve to be treated like second class citizens and spoken to in disrespect. None of us want to be there, and would prefer to be well. Please make our visit at least bearable.

I am very sorry that our reception staff were not more helpful. We will use this feedback to improve the service. All staff understand the need to protect patient confidentiality and should use only patients' names when calling them into clinic. Mary Edwards, Chief Executive
