"Super knee surgery"

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

I am now a month post total knee replacement and wanted to commend the Trust for its joined up care from pre surgery education sessions to post surgery rehab.

The service has been excellent and my stay in the hospital was of a high quality and interactions with staff showed care, compassion and a willingness to work with patients preferences.

Having surgery via spinal block rather than general anaesthetic was brilliant and not as scarey as you might think.

I am more mobile than I could have hoped for at this stage and would like to thank everyone involved in my care.

After recently retiring after 36 years working in the NHS this was my 1st time as a patient and so proud of the care provided.
