"Exorbitant parking charge"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

I attended the Phlebotomy clinic for a blood test. To my amazement, I was in and out in half an hour having expected a long wait on a Monday morning. Then I went to pay for car parking and found It would cost me £3.40!!!! That equates to £6.80 an hour which is ridiculous. If I’d been less than 20 minutes it there would have been no charge but how many people are going to be in and out in that time. Please consider charging for the time actually parked.

Thank you for your review. We're pleased to hear that you were treated quickly by our phlebotomy team, but we're sorry that you were unhappy with the parking charges at the hospital. The Trust is one of a number of organisations that manage the New QEII hospital and set parking charges. We do not seek to make a profit from parking charges, but any that we do make is put back into maintaining our parking facilities. We'll share your feedback with our facilities team so they can take this on board.
