"Experience of A&E"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Delivered by ambalance waited about 1 hour to be assessed and have blood taken. Then sent to another waiting room. Which on first impression dirty with sick in bowl. Lots of people .while waiting 2 elderly people in wheelchairs said they were hungry. One member of staff informed them they don't offer food until 12hrs has passed. But she would try and get them some food. She found them sandwiches. Another man was with prison officers. It's now 5 am have seen doctor who examined me. Waiting on blood results. Ask nurse if blood results could be sent to doctor. She said no once I leave that's it. I said wanted to go home so could get pain relief.hope I never have to come back here.

We are very sorry that you had a poor experience when attending the Emergency Department recently. If you would like to discuss your care with a matron please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on medwayft.pals@nhs.net or 01634 825004 and they will be happy to arrange this.

Kindest regards,

The Patient Experience Team
