"I am giving Hill Brow surgery a bad review"

I find it a struggle to book an appointment when I want. I have only ever gone to the Doctors 3 times in 15 years - I don’t go for just a cold, it has been with things requiring specific treatment. (So in your reply I don’t expect the standard “We Need Your Help” response that I see to most of these reviews.

On service - it is very rushed. I don’t see how it is a time saver to have a telephone appointment and being diagnosed over the phone as it leads to wrong diagnosis (I speak from experience where I was referred to the pharmacist to prescribe something for me and they refused after seeing me in person and told me to go to the dr) also on the subject of rushing the consultation and wrong diagnosis - this leads to having to have a second appointment a few days later after which symptoms have got worse. Things take then longer to heal with more chance of recurring. I wrote this now from a walk in centre reception which is seeing me today as I can’t get another appointment with my own gp surgery until Monday.

Having your own gp nowadays is non existent it is always duty doctor or no appointment for 2 weeks by which time either you are expected to cure yourself or get so bad ou are forced to be seen elsewhere.

If the online booking is a better service, this should be set up automatically for every patient and or be told to the patients as the telephone booking service is a failure. 116 calls in 30 minutes and always user busy.

I also do not like the no caller ID when the dr phones you and or does not leave a message so if you are missed there is no way of returning a call. The amount of effort to keep ringing and then an eye or ear on the phone is so stressful at a time when you are already unwell.

It is appalling service.

I am sorry that you are unhappy with so many aspects of the Practice and find the service, in your words, "appalling".

Patients do not have to stay with a Practice that they are unhappy with and are able to register at any Practice which covers their home address and this can be done by simply presenting at the Reception of your chosen Practice.
