"What was I worried about?"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

I had cataract surgery today. Being the utter wuss I am, I was very worried to the point where I came over a bit faint - I don't deal very well with things like this, alas. The medical staff were very very understanding and offered a sedative drip, which I accepted just to take the edge off my anxiety. But the whole experience was way less traumatic than I'd imagined (I do have a very vivid imagination!). Everything went smoothly, and my surgical team were supportive throughout - and I hardly felt a thing! In a few weeks I'll be having the other eye sorted out, but now I think I'll be a lot better prepared, thanks to the excellent care Bolton Royal staff showed me. Surgery? Bring it! :)

Hello Karl, lots of people are anxious before surgery so don't worry about that - we're just pleased that the staff were able to help and that you feel more confident about your next operation. Thanks for posting
