"A long wait, but all the staff were exemplary"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

My daughter attended A&E on 13th February 2019 with a quinsy, she was very unwell and dehydrated, all the staff were courteous and kind but because they were so busy there was a very long wait before she could get an IV line put in to give her plasma, antibiotics, steroids and painkillers, The IV technician was wonderful and as soon as he was able to get to my daughter with the ultrasound machine, he was able to put the port in that she needed. We understood that he had to deal with severe head trauma patients before my daughter, but found it incredible that such a busy A&E ward had only one machine. We would like to fundraise to provide another machine.
