"Complaint - reception staff on duty 19th..."

About: Reading Walk-in Health Centre

This morning I visited the surgery at +- 10 am.

I live and work in the UK for 6 years and two days ago, my mother came to visit me from Portugal as my health is poorly at the moment.

Sadly my mother became ill with a oral infection and contacted her local doctor this morning he prescribed some penicillin urgently. I was recommended by a doctor friend of mine to go down to the local surgery and ask for a prescription so we could buy the medication. I would like to share the incident with you so as to avoid any one else feeling so belittled and embarrassed as we did. The reception lady spoke rudely and loud and if that wasn't enough the other lady next to her also decided to interfere talking even louder and asking for the doctors name that had told us to go there and as I didn't think it was relative she insinuated loudly as if I was lying and that one had in fact told us to go there as they couldn't do anything for us and that we must go to a dentist.

I asked if we could at least be seen a doctor they said if you want to get the same answer you can wait 2 1/2 hours.

We walked out from the surgery feeling so embarrassed and sad that with my mother was in so much pain and to be treated in this manner.
