On 10/11/2018 I was admitted to Ayr hospital through A&E. I had to have surgery that took place there.
I was taken back around to station 3. I was very anxious as I had never been in hospital before. All the staff are, from admission to discharge ten days later, wonderful. From the surgeons, ward doctors, nurses, student nurses and all the ancillary staff, I was treated with kindness, compassion and respect.
I enjoyed a varied diet thanks to the catering staff who provided delicious meals, which I'm certain went a long way towards helping my recovery.
I was discharged on 19/11 to the care of the district nurses who are attached to my GP, the Barns Medical Practice. Once again, I have nothing but praise to say for these girls, they treated me with such kindness. Their caring smiles put me at ease as they treated my wounds. I don't have the words to express how grateful I am and how much I appreciate everything they did.
There were other district nurses involved that visited in the evenings and weekends and I have to say that as strangers coming into your house, sometimes as late as midnight to change a rogue dressing, these nurses were lovely.
"Nothing but praise to say for these girls"
