"They saved my life!"

About: Torbay Hospital

What I liked

I contracted necrotizing fasciitis in October 2011. Without the prompt action of the doctor I saw in A&E and of the subsequent doctors and nurses I saw on Ainslie Ward I might not have survived. I understand that this infection is very difficult to diagnose so I’m very grateful that it was spotted sooner rather than later as time is very much of an essence. I know that I was extremely unlucky to pick up the infection in the first instance but I’m so lucky to be here and I have a foot and this is down to the staffing team. My family and I will be eternally thankful.
