My mum was admitted to hospital 2 days ago, as a result of continuing terminal cancer pain & an infection scare.
First of all, A&E, they are just outstanding people who are consummate professionals & incredibly warm & friendly too. The paramedics who came to care for my mum were calm & controlled and responded in a way that made the situation a whole lot easier & manageable. I can't thank these guys enough. Then the nurses & doctors who followed up with their care were all calm & measured in treating the immediate problems and with their diagnoses, it's humbling & reassuring to know how good these guys are.
Following A&E, my mum was then admitted to the Acute Assessment Unit. Since there she's been looked after and attended to to help further diagnose the issues around the infection & the ongoing pain she's experiencing. The nurses & doctors here are just incredible humans who go about their work in an incredible manner, they've kept my mum alive & given us hope. For this you can't say anymore, other than thank your lucky stars that people who work here are outstanding individuals but also work as a team to treat people. There aren't really sufficient words to cover the appreciation we feel & to acknowledge just how fortunate we are to have a health service this good.
I'm completely blown away & hope to donote regularly to the Macmillan unit there & the hospital also.
"Incredible"
