I attended A&E after travelling there via ambulance with Entonox due to extreme abdominal pain. They took bloods and said I would get painkillers. I saw the doctor before I got anything, and he tried chasing up the medication with the nurses. I’d been in A&E in agony for 4 hours before I got IV paracetamol, some oromorph and Buscopan.
Bloods apparently came back fine, so I was told to go home because they needed the bed, even though I was still in agony and struggling to walk due to pain. They just left me to walk out on my own, clutching to the wall to walk. A cleaner asked if I was ok.
The next day, I was told by my GP my inflammation markers were significantly raised and to go back to A&E.
What I don’t understand is why my inflammatory markers weren’t raised in A&E bloods taken less than 12 hours earlier than GP bloods.
Also, why the nurses were so rude to me and the doctor didn’t listen.
