"Podiatry Appointment Under 10 Minutes"

I am writing this on behalf of a relative. I am extremely disappointed in the level of care given during Podiatry appointments. How can you really assess and maintain a patient’s feet in less than 10 minutes, baring in mind it probably takes them two minutes to take their shoes off and put them back on again. Patients now must wait longer between appointments which often means overgrown toe nails break off causing the patient pain whilst waiting in between for 12-weekly appointments. Outside the NHS a podiatry appointment for myself takes 30 minutes (type 1 diabetic who chooses to go private) yet you treat a type 2 diabetic elderly person on the NHS in about 8 minutes. I know the NHS is strapped for cash and staff, but 8 minutes is really not acceptable to get a good level of care. No issues with the staff, they are always friendly and happy.
