What I liked
Nothing so far but this is ongoing
What could be improved
My Mother was transfered here from Redcar hospital, a very clean, well organised hospital with friendly staff. Basically they (James Cook) lost her for over 6 hours, she was not in the ward that I was told she was being admitted to. After repeated attempts to speak to someone who could help (the phone was either not answered or picked up and put straight back down again) I found out that she had been placed in a mens ward. When I eventually get someone to answer the phone (yet again) they denied all knowledge of her being there "This is a mens ward, we do not have any female patients". Wrong!!! she was there (ward 1). By the time I managed to get hold of someone who actually knew what they were talking about it was 10.00 pm.
Totally unacceptable standards of communication, laxadasical attitudes all round, the sooner I can get her back to Redcar hospital the better.
"Have been able to contact people working in..."
