"Urgent Care Centre -treatment for broken arm"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

In the early evening of 31 Jan 2019, I was unfortunate and clumsy enough to trip over a footstool at home resulting in what was by all accounts a fairly bad fracture of my right arm. I was however fortunate enough to have been taken to the QE2 Urgent Care Centre for initial treatment - in little over an hour my injury had been x-rayed, the necessary manipulation expertly undertaken, re-x-rayed and plastered ... and the clinical assessment made that surgery would be required for which I was immediately referred to the Lister Hospital, Stevenage. Within 3 hours of my accident I was home again having been to the QE2 Urgent Care Centre and the Lister Hospital where I saw the registrar and a member of the surgical team within an hour. (Surgery followed 2 days later.)

My treatment restored/reinforced my faith in our NHS - it was there when i needed it and I find it difficult to identify any aspects of my treatment that could have been better.

Thank-you and well done to the NHS and it’s staff

Thank you for your review Peter. We're very pleased to hear that you had an excellent experience of the New QEII and Lister. We'll make sure your review is shared with both teams and we do hope your arm is on the mend.
