I've had a very complicated history of mental illness and service use. However, one of the services that I have used on and off for the last 5/6 years (Sheffield South West Home Treatment Team) have come into their own recently.
I really appreciate (even though I haven't always understood at the time) their help and support over the years. The fact that the team have known me for so long and have seen me at different stages of my illness has been invaluable and I really trust their judgement of situations and what is best to help me.
Recently I received a bit of an apology for my care over the last 5 years and the general lack of structure. Certain staff members in Home Treatment "took the bull by its horns" and have been influential in making a big change to the direction of my care. It is down to how well they know me that they have managed to do the right thing for my situation and I now feel a lot more optimistic about how my care might be in the future.
"I now feel a lot more optimistic"
