(as the patient),

I was admitted in an emergency capacity to ward 6 FVRI in the early hours of one morning recently.  For me it was a very scary experience and initially I did not know the severity of the situation. From the inital phone call from home, to the ward the staff were very helpful and reassuring, whereby they advised me to attend immediately. I would like to make a special thanks to Karen, Karen you were outstanding, kind and compassionate and made both myself and my sister feel at ease in a very tense and unknown situation. I can not express my thanks and gratitude enough to you and all the other staff that assisted me that night from doctors, nurses and theatre staff. Many thanks.

I hope you are recovering well from your surgery and scary experience. It is great to receive such wonderful feedback, thank you!

Being admitted to hospital as an emergency, when you are unsure of what is wrong, is a very frightening and overwhelming experience, especially in the middle of the night. It is fantastic to hear that Karen’s care helped allay both your own and your sisters’ fears and anxieties. She will be over the moon to hear such praise.

I will make sure that Karen and all of the team see your posting. As a team, the staff in ward 6 and theatre aim to give the highest standards of care and support so I know they will all be delighted to see your comments and will want to send their best wishes to you.

Once again many thanks for sharing your positive experience in our care and can I also take this opportunity to wish you a continued speedy recovery.
