In December my husband and I arrived from Spain to visit our Son and his young family in Penzance. The next day about 9.00pm I slipped on the kitchen floor and could not move! We had to wait a couple of hours for the Ambulance but from the moment they arrived they were brilliant, I was admitted to The Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where I was attentively and professionally cared for and operated two days later. I received excellent after surgery care, from the doctors, nurses and impressive physiotherapists - not to overlook the lovely meals. A few days later I was taken to St Michael's in Hayle to continue my recovery and plan my return to Spain.
I cannot speak too highly of the fantastic support both my husband and I received from the Duty Doctor, the nurses and the physios as we tried to work out and arrange the best way to return to Spain.
It was heart breaking to miss out on Christmas with our 4 year old Grandson but all of the NHS Staff in both hospitals helped me so much to feel safe and in good hands - every aspect of my well being was considered, and I cannot praise them too highly.
