What I liked
I attended A & E in February 2012 whilst on holiday at Hunstanton. I had much pain and sickness on admission and was quickly given pain relief and diagnosed with possible Pancreatitis and Gall bladder infection after an ultra scan. I was immediately admitted to Feltwell Ward, under the care of a consultant and his team who immediately ensured I was transferred to the Critical Care Unit where my sickness was alleviated and my pancreatic/gall bladder infection was monitored and quickly under control. I was very poorly for the first 5 days and cannot thank the staff and doctors on CCU enough for pulling me through this traumatic first few days. I was then transferred to Darwin Ward to recover and was lucky enough to obtain an emergency slot for my gall bladder removal. The operation was not straight forward, as the offending gall bladder had fused with another organ, but I was in good hands and came through it all very well. I had to stay in hospital a little longer than normal after the operation, mainly due to my weakness from the previous infection prior to my operation, but was eventually given the green light to be discharged from hospital. I am so thankful to my consultant's team for getting me through the trauma, the A & E team for recognising immediately how sick I was to and all the staff involved in my care and recovery during my 2 week stay. I was lucky to have been at our holiday home at Manor Park at the time and returned there to start my recovery before travelling back to Lincolnshire. I would also like to thank the staff for their kindness and consideration towards my husband and visiting family throughout my hospital stay.
What could be improved
I cannot fault anything!
