"Good on the surface, but I am unimpressed."

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

What I liked

Thought staff were nice, I was given a cancellation appointment within weeks.

What could be improved

I came in for a wisdom tooth extraction. In my initial consultation the consultant did not mention that he had recommended both top and bottom teeth to come out and wrote T/B on the consent form (will teach me not to fully read the forms!). When I went in for the minor surgery and found this out I was very annoyed and only let them take the tooth out that I knew about. Was informed at the time that the surgeon had to leave the last half mm of the tooth in because it would be too much effort to take out. Fair enough I thought.

Pain was nearly fully gone within two days, then started to get much worse. I went back in a week after the operation to follow up due to the pain, the person I saw thought perhaps an infection and prescribed anti-biotics but I think that was just to make me feel better.

A month later I was still feeling pain, and still am slightly at the moment when i close my teeth together. Last night a jagged half cm piece of tooth or bone came out of the extraction site with some blood. Am horrified that this could have been left in there and has been causing me on going pain for two months.
