"The William Rous Unit did not live up to it's..."

About: Kingston Hospital

What I liked

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at Kingston and the first time it was fine. It was when it came back that the problems started

What could be improved

I was a 'shared' case between Kingston and the Royal Marsden. It would have been good if Kingston could have honoured this, instead they thought the Marsden would do everything but the Marsden believed that Kingston would support me post op. So I have had a double mastectomy and DIEP with no support from the specialist unit at my local hospital. They also 'forgot' to send my notes to the oncologist at the Marsden who, when they did finally receive them after nine weeks, immediately put me on Tamoxifen because Kingston had missed something glaringly obvious a year previously.

Anything else?

Don't try complaining to Kingston becasue they accept responsibility for nothing and blame the patient for everything.

I am eternally grateful that my surgeon at Royal Marsden has moved all my care to them.
