I’ve recently been discharged from ward 21. Throughout my stay my husband and I were met with care and compassion. I initially was referred to the walk in centre via 111 with ? Miscarriage. I was seen in A and E by amazing nurses and nursing assistants who took my bloods and tried their best to reassure us whilst still being realistic. The gynae doctor that i saw was so kind and caring towards us during the most difficult time.
I was admitted to ward 21 for 3 days. Luckily a scan showed that our baby was ok but I was treated for sepsis. The nurses on the ward kept me informed throughout and as I was in a side room allowed my husband to have open assess. This meant so much to me when I really needed his support. A special thanks must go to one nurse who is an absolute asset to the ward. She truly cared about her patients and kept us both informed of every aspect of my care. She understood that being a nurse myself I found it hard being “on the other side” and did everything she could to reassure me and was so compassionate in her care.
