"Situation handled with professionalism and experience"

About: Adult mental health / Crathes Ward

(as the patient),

Unfortunately a situation arose on Crathes ward on a night duty.

Alarms were sounded and staff responded.

I want to express the difficulty these mental health staff were faced with that night.

Robyn was the trained member of staff on. I witnessed her and heard her direct every person through the necessary steps to deal with the situation. She not only gave a large amount of time to the patient concerned, but attempted to direct people to ensuring the rest of us were cared for. She seemed to be absolutely sure of what was expected of her and what the next step would be. I also watched her comfort another member of staff who needed it within seconds of the paramedics leaving. Her words were wise and her emotions were put aside whilst she carried out, what was her very important role that night.

Robyn was phenomenal.

I also wanted to write a bit about Debbie in Crathes ward and I want to give positive feedback to make sure she sees something reassuring this week.

Debbie spends every single shift paying attention to detail. She is the brightness a ward like Crathes needs. She spends most nights speaking to all of us and taking our minds to much happier places.

Debbie dealt with it extremely well and still appears bright and attentive to our needs.

I want to write this in hope she feels appreciated and acknowledged.

Thank you crathes for the care. And thank you Debbie for your infectious spirit.

The entire team were phenomenal. These staff don’t get enough recognition.

I’m sorry for the upset they must have experienced. But I thank them for doing such a vital and unappreciated job.
