"Visit to Urgent Care"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I went to Royal free Urgent Care due to rectal bleeding for a week. The Streaming nurse was really nice and attentive, she maintained my confidentiality. I did not have to wait for long to be called to have my obs done. I arrived at the centre around 9:15 am. I was then called by a male doctor after 20mins, he checked and interviewed me although i did not consent him to do rectal examination and he respected that so he handed me over to a female doctor which i am happy about. The male doctor was nice and lovely he listened to my needs and took time to assess me. After that, i went back to the waiting room to be seen by a female doctor. I waited for 15-20 minutes to be called by her. I went in to the examination room and shut the door. She asked me why im there so I explained my situation. She then told me she’ll examine me PR and asked me to lie down facing the wall. I didnt really get what she meant so i’m asking her questions like “this way?” “should i just do it like this or what?”. Then her tone of voice was high like she was shouting which made me upset and she even said, “i thought you’re training to be a nurse, why don’t u understand what i asked you.” I was really upset then. The thing is, she was not clear on what she wanted me to do, then she gets really really annoyed. My experience would have been better because everyone was nice except her. Why go to a profession like that when you don’t have patience and cant communicate well? I was disgusted and disappointed with her attitude!

To you ma’am, You are a doctor, please be more patient and I understand it’s a stressful place but you chose to be in this profession. Sorry that you had to check butts and that, but even myself i was embarrassed and you made me feel more stupid.

Although, thank you to the Receptionist, nurses and The male doctor!

Dear SC

Thank you for taking time to leave feedback. Whilst I am pleased you found the receptionist, nurse and male Dr helpful I am sorry this was not the case with the female Dr. I would like to take this up and ask if you feel ok to send me the name of the Dr or a description if name not know; please email me at richardchester@ns.net

Kind Regards

Richard
