About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I had to attend accident and emergency today 15th January 2019 due to a gash to my leg.

I found the department very clean and looking very smart with a calming atmosphere.

Excellent and efficient care from reception to triage.

I was seen by three staff members who were very concerned and caring. One of them cleaned and bandaged the wound and I found her expertise exceptional explaining what she was doing.

What a wonderful team.you have in A & E a real credit to the hospital.

I also work in the NHS for 30 years and appreciated their care today.

Very many grateful thanks to your superb staff.

Best wishes

Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback about your recent episode of care in the Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital; we really do appreciate it, particularly coming from a fellow healthcare professional. We very much hope that the gash to your leg is healing well, has not required any further intervention, and that you are in good spirits despite incurring such a horrid injury!

The Trust works very hard to provide a responsive and high standard of care to all patients, and we are delighted to read this was your experience. It is also assuring for us to read that our values in treatment of kindness, compassion, dignity and respect were evident at every stage of your care pathway, as this must have been a source of comfort for you at a painful and worrying time.

Our Emergency Department’s treat high numbers of patients every day, often in difficult, complex or challenging circumstances, managing straightforward illnesses and injuries alongside urgent and life-threatening situations, and so staff will be absolutely thrilled to read the kindness and gratitude of your feedback.

We wish you all the very best in your ongoing recovery, and for good health and well-being in the future.
