"Two recent positive experiences"

About: Jubilee Surgery

I've recently had two very positive experiences of the surgery:

1. I used e consult for advice about a skin bump which was worrying me. Result: a 5 minute GP consultation which was all it took for the GP to look at it under a lens and reassure me it was benign. I appreciate 5 minute consultations could be abused by people who really need longer but, used appropriately, what a great idea!

2. I have had endless problems for 12 months in trying to get the hearing aids which I was prescribed by QA hospital in Dec '17 (their audiology service appears to be virtually non-existant!). My GP referred me elsewhere and I used the NHS e-Referral service (sadly, a minus star set up as far as I can see!) to book. Two days before my appointment, the e-Referral service wrote to me to say the appointment was cancelled, sending me back to my GP. After the long wait I've had, and my ongoing hearing loss problems, I was really upset by theis. The secretary at the surgery could not have been kinder or more empathic. She found out what had happened and queried it for me. While there couldn't be a positive outcome (the service to which I was referred has changed its criteria!), I at least felt understood and that my upset and annoyance was justified.

The surgery is not wiithout its problems at times but these were examples of great services.
