"Extremely unhelpful receptionist staff"

About: Stifford Clays Medical Centre

Having a form of chronic cancer as well as diabetes I have had to grin and bear with the receptionist staff at Stifford Clays Medical Centre fairly regularly over the years.

Apart from long waiting times at this practice (which I do understand can't be helped and are the result excessive strain on NHS resources), this has been a particularly stressful and frustrating experience, due to receptionists seemingly lacking any form of common sense OR desire to help. Very much reminiscent of the well known 'computer says no' comedy sketch.. only less amusing.

Apart from the general ill-mannered tone of the ladies behind the front desk when speaking with them, one such recent example is when I picked up my repeat prescription to find that certain items had been crossed off without my consultation. My medication is not a luxury and I cannot live without it. Regardless of whether I had already ordered these items a week prior, I use my medication as and when I NEED it and a simple phone call to inform me of this executive decision taken by a member of staff with no medical training could have averted a very stressful and potentially dangerous situation. Less red tape more common sense please!!!!!
