"Receptionists can be difficult"

My family and I have always received excellent care from most of the medical staff. The reception team on the whole are brilliant and accommodating however I am very upset by one interaction which does require a complaint. When I needed an emergency appointment for my six year old son before even hearing what the problem was, the receptionist told me I wouldn’t get an appointment and she was unwilling to even listen to the problem. I found her attitude dismissive and rude and I was incredibly disappointed as I have always received excellent service from the surgery. On this one occasion the receptionist let the surgery down. I ended up calling 111 who were incredibly efficient at getting an appointment immediately. I regret that I have had this experience with the surgery as it has now tainted my otherwise high opinion of the surgery. The receptionist could have and should have done better.
