"Extremely pleasant, helpful and put me at ease."

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

From the moment I entered the unit about 1pm and spoke to the receptionist I found all the staff extremely pleasant, helpful and put me at ease.

The only negative comment I would make during my consultation with the Nurse Practitioner for my Xray results and after care, the door suddenly opened the Nurse called out to alert them the room was occupied. A doctor came in, didn't ask to speak to the Nurse outside, but carried on  discussing  another patient's needs. The  doctor would have no idea what I was seeing the nurse about it, and could have been very embarrassing. Might be better if they knock on the door and ask the nurse to step out, I know they are under pressure but would be a better way of handing over.

Apart from that excellent care. Well done.

Hi Faller,

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. I am glad you found our team pleasant, helpful and that they put you at ease! They work excpetionally hard to provide this level of service and are an asset to the hospital.

We'll remind our team about the importance of knocking!

Hope you are on the mend!

Best wishes,

Gareth

Thanks Faller for your feedback, Its lovely to hear that everyone was pleasant and helpful and helped put you at ease. I'm sorry that the Dr failed to knock and then interrupted the consultation. I will discuss with Emergency Department Consultants who in turn can remind the Drs of the importance of knocking and discussing other patients. I hope you are well on the way to recovery.

Regards,

Lesley
