"Throat Operation"

Have had problems with my throat and our GP surgery failed to send ENT referral in August 2018. Have been waiting for months without an appointment. Saw another GP in early December and sent me for a 2 week referral. Saw consultant on the 13th December at Kings Mill, Mansfield. He arranged for an operation on my throat on the 7th January which has been carried out at Chesterfield Royal hospital. Was a day patient at Holywell ward. I have never experienced such a brilliant and professional consultant. He was caring, reassuring, and informative. The staff on the ward on the day were excellent. Although I was quite anxious especially as my wife and family couldn't stay with me. I understood this due to lack of space and carrying out their work. They were very friendly, professional, caring, and reassuring. Although Chesterfield is quite a way from where we live I am really pleased I did. On the next day on of the nurses rang my wife to see how I was, and the consultant rang me a little later. An excellent, caring, and professional team. I would recommend Chesterfield Royal hospital to anyone that needs treatment.
