"Staff work to hard, not enough of them, then..."

About: Southmead Hospital

Staff were brilliant!!

Not enough of them though, and very underpaid.

Complete mess up with my medication despite me taking it in with me it was not put on my meds chart properly, but the staff were too busy (understandably) to sort it.

So the diazepam and other night meds which I take at 9PM, I did not get until 1.45 AM and even then they were incorrect.

It was my that had to ask for fluids via canula as knew I was dehydrated.

That took hours for them to sort.

Not offered any food, until I asked for something, which when you have an eating disorder, slightly embarrassing and they were monitoring my blood sugar levels.

No wonder they dipped to 1.7, luckily I had a cool bag with some food supplies.

Again I want to thank all the staff who helped me, very pleasant, friendly, polite, but again completely over stretched and underpaid!!

A HCA gets paid more working at Tesco!!

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your feedback, please accept my sincere apologies that you had such a poor experience.

So that we can look into this further for you, it would be helpful if you could contact us at Complaints@nbt.nhs.uk with your name and date of birth and to let us know the ward where this took place.

Whilst we appreciate your understanding that staff were busy, the wards are usually appropriately staffed to enable them to deliver care that our patient's require, and clearly on this occasion it looks very much that we failed to do this for you.

With all best wishes, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager
