I attended today 11.01.2019. For a Sigmoidoscooy.
I mentioned it was agreed o have sedation as agreed by my GP referring. They did not want to administer it although agreed in writing by referer. They eventually did agree after much insistence.
I was nervous and wanted my mum with me during Signoiadoscooy.they said no
This was probably because the sedation was not enough, they even pressed on arm and put in needle for sedation, usually at the dentist or doing bloods you use the strap?!
I felt the whole procedure i was far to ware of it and was upset in pain and asked Dr to stop he refused no we have to carry on??! and carried on. I felt humiliated powerless and violated as a young woman and as a patient.-surely stop means stop like no means no.
I hope someone at the hospital does contact me as i will make a full complaint.
I will not return to this department ever.
