"Making an unpleasant experience better"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy, within the endoscopy unit. I was admitted by a lovely lady in light blue scrubs but I unfortunately forgot her name. I was scared and as I work at Musgrove, I was embarrassed for the bowel prep, given by a colleague of mine. However, Anna the nurse was very professional but made me feel comfortable and normal and made me feel at ease, and the preparation went fine. Nial (Nurse) and Martin (Nurse Endoscopic) were amazing! They made me feel comfortable and understand I was nervous. Nial carried my bags and let me hold his hand when it got uncomfortable, reminding me to keep using the gas and air to relieve the pain. Mark kept me informed about everything that was happening and was so lovely to me, explained everything and comforted me throughout. Thank you everyone for making an unpleasant experience better.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback.

I am so pleased to read that an unpleasant experience was made bearable for you and that the staff were lovely to you.

I have already shared your feedback with the Matron who leads the team in Endoscopy and she will make sure that the team receive your message.

With very best wishes

Hayley
