The nursing team (most often one lady in particular) at the Heron Practice has been changing my post-operative dressings for a couple of months now. It's a large and complex wound that takes quite a while to treat, but the care I have had has been superb from beginning to end. Here are a few reasons why:
1. I have never felt rushed, or as if I'm taking up too much of their time
2. The nurses are friendly and personable, listen to my concerns and questions, and act on them if necessary
3. The nurses are also ready to admit that there are some things that they don't know, and get advice from their colleagues in these instances (this is particularly important - it's so comforting to me that the medical team are comfortable with the fact that they don't know absolutely everything. There's nothing worse than an arrogant clinician)
4. From a medical perspective, everything is done to a high standard, and as a result I am healing well
5. Just as a general observation, everything is always very clean and well-organised, so it's a really professional outfit from top to bottom.
All in all I have received top-notch treatment and I am really grateful to all the team for the care and support they've given me. Five stars.
"Excellent nursing"
