About: St. Mary's Surgery

Unable to get an appointment for over a week now due to not being able to get through the phone line (start ringing at 8am, which is totally inconvienent if you actually work from 8am Monday to Friday!) being left on hold for 40mins only for the call handler to pick up the phone and hang it up without saying anything, leaving me extremely frustrated! It has happened at least 3 times in the past two days alone! Went into the surgery after work to try and book an appointment and explained my experience with trying to call only to be told ‘oh well you have to ring at 8 o’clock there’s nothing I can do’. Quite frankly that is not good enough! I work for the NHS as a call handler and I’m disgusted with the lack of care and service this surgery is providing, it needs to be addressed ASAP!

I am so sorry that you have been unable to get through on the telephone. Having made several changes recently to improve phone access I would very much like to look into this in more detail. I would like to understand why you were unable to get through and taker some action to improve the situation. Please contact me on 02380 210292 Monday to Friday excluding Tuesdays.

We do offer a range of ways of accessing services for people who find it difficult to get an appointments during working hours. These include online consultations accessible through our website (www.stmaryshealth.co.uk and click on "Consult Our Doctors Online") and HUB appointments in the evening or at weekends. Please ask the receptionist to book you into a Hub appointment.

I would like to look into the details for you.

You can ring me on 02380 210292 or contact me by email lenbates@nhs.net
