"Alcohol recovery"

About: One Recovery Bucks

(as a service user),

I came to One Recovery Bucks, having been a 'high-functioning alcoholic' - drinking in excess of 100 units most weeks, yet somehow holding down a job and some approximation of life - for around four years. One Recovery Bucks offered me help, advice and most importantly a structured plan to help me achieve my goal of getting sober and staying sober. When a single day of sobriety was so difficult to contemplate, doing it for the rest of my life seemed unthinkable. But 1RB gave me the support and confidence to make this happen. I am now four months into my recovery journey. I have a long way to go still, but life is genuinely fulfilling and enjoyable for the first time in a long, long while. Thank you!

Dear DPC, thank you so much for giving us your very honest and useful feedback. It is amazing what you have achieved with the help and support from our staff, but believe me, I am sure you have done all the hard work. Change is only possible when a person wants it for themselves. It is good to hear that our structured support plan helped you achieve your goal of sobriety.

Have you accessed the mutual aid fellowships running from our building. A lot of people find AA really useful for their ongoing recovery support. If you haven't ask your keyworker for the times and dates.

Keep working on strengthening your recovery and enjoying life and a massive congratulations again for achieving 4 months in your recovery, you should be really proud, we are!

Wishing you all the very best.

Tracy
