"Ultrasound dept"

I recently had an ultrasound done for a lump and pain that I've been experiencing for over a year now. Both me and my Dr felt the lump and decided I should have an ultrasound to decide what it is and where to go from there.

The sonographer spent less than 2 minutes looking for the lump, and only ran across the area once after I had pointed out where it was. They then decided there was nothing there, and proceeded to finish the ultrasound 2 minutes after I'd walked in the room. I insisted I was having pain, and that both I and my Dr had felt the lump. They proceeded to tell me they could not feel the lump and there was nothing there. I am basically in tears at this point that someone is telling me that my pain doesn't matter, and that a very real thing I'm experiencing isn't real. I was cut off not once, but twice when asking them what to do then because they'd spent so little time even trying to find where the pain was and locating the cyst (as my Dr called it).

I would not have been given a referral for no reason, and to be treated like a child who doesn't know or understand their own body shows a complete lack of respect or care for a patient. This is the second ultrasound I've had where I've been spoken to like this and have left in tears.
