I took a friend to the Paul Strickland centre for a scan. He was anxious and while I was parking he walked to the entrance. Before I caught up with him, 2 members of staff had asked if he knew where he was going. They could see he was anxious, and one offered to take us, very helpful. When we arrived at reception there, I told them that the hand sanitiser was empty, a call was made and 2 mins later, was being refilled.
My friend became worried about where I would meet him afterwards( I was going to see friends briefly who lived nearby). The receptionist noted our conversation, got out of her seat, reminded him what would happening next, and was so professional and warm, that he relaxed and declined my offer to stay. She was excellent. On my return, as I entered the hospital again, one of your colleagues asked me if I knew where I was going- suggesting that your staff behaviour is systemic. My friend was longer than expected and again, the receptionist was proactive finding out my waiting time and helped with the car parking. In addition, my friend was led out by someone who checked I was there, again, relieving him of worry. I was very impressed and have praised your hospital since.
Forgive the delay in giving you this feedback.
BTW- I couldn’t comment on the last two star ratings as I have no experience of them. Leaving them out does not mean I thought they were poor.
Thanks to your staff whose attitude and demeanour are exemplary. Their consideration put my local hospital to shame.
