"End of Life Care for my mother"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Care of the Elderly (Wards 14,20,22) University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / Neurology

(as a relative),

My mother was taken into Monklands hospital with a suspected stroke and was subsequently diagnosed with advanced cancer. The staff were wonderful and I wish I could name them all. While clearly extremely busy they took the time to make sure she was comfortable, well cared for and that family and other visitors were given full consideration.

Dear BrianT,

Firstly, please accept our condolences for your mother's passing. I'm sorry for your loss but am pleased that you were happy with the care and compassion that was provided to your mother and wider family. We'll be sure to share this feedback with the staff in the ward. Whilst all staff are busy at this time year, this is the type of care and support we expect to provide to all families but it's always nice to hear positive feedback. Thank-you for taking the time to do this.

Best wishes

Fraser McJannett, Medical Service Manager
