My wife and I became unwell with flu symptoms on 28th December 2018. In the early hours of 31st, my wife collapsed at home and suffered a bad cut to her face. As we decided that I was not able to drive due to the flu symptoms, I called an ambulance.
The ambulance crew who attended our house were superb and took us to Darent Valley Hospital.
The cut to my wife’s face needed 8 old fashioned stitches. The doctor also informed us that my wife had pneumonia. The doctor then said that I should be checked for infection. I was also diagnosed with pneumonia, but to a lesser degree than my wife.
My wife was admitted to a ward and spent 8 days at Darent Valley. I was sent home with antibiotics and had a follow up appointment four days later.
The treatment that we received was top class. We would like to sincerely thank the Ambulance Crew, Doctors, Consultants, Porters, Nurses, Cleaners, Catering Staff and all Auxiliary workers who cared for my wife during her first ever stay in hospital.
The NHS looked after us when we needed it. Thank you.
