"Fantastic gynae team and day surgery unit"

Fantastic care given by all involved.

My pathway started with an appointment with a consultant. He talked me through all of my treatment options and he listened to my options. This helped me make an informed decision about the best treatment option for me. The same day I was able to wait a short while and have my pre-op done menainrg I wouldn’t need to return to the hospital before my procedure. I was listed on the ‘pooled’ list meaning my waiting time for my procedure was reduced.

The consultants secretary spoke with me to arrange the procedure date, she was courteous and friendly.

On the day of the procedure I knew what to expect from my conversation with the consultant and the leaflets given to me. The admissions lounge is a lovely environment to wait in and the staff were very friendly and informative. I had my initial observations completed before meeting with the anaesthetist and surgeon. When called for surgery I was escorted to the theatre holding area before being walked into the anaesthetic room. Staying dressed in my own clothes until it was necessary to change into a gown put me at ease and I felt much more comfortable.

The after care on the day surgery unit was fantastic. They listened to me about my concerns and addressed my pain levels and symptoms promptly.

All staff treated me with compassion and care. A service to be very proud of.
