"Bone Marrow Transplant in The Royal Marsden, Surrey. "

About: The Royal Marsden Hospital (Surrey)

(as the patient),

I had a bone marrow transplant as treatment for leukaemia in The Royal Marsden in Surrey. What a fantastic hospital, crammed full of wonderfully friendly and understanding staff, from the nurses, to the cleaning staff, the ward clerks, other health care professionals and the consultants, every one was brilliant. Everybody seems to know what they are doing and how to do it to best standards. The wards were clean and inviting. The thought of having to spend up to 3 months in a ward, part time in isolation, is very daunting and evokes anxiety within -so I am pleased to be able to report that the atmosphere on the ward I stayed on was a home from home.

The BMT team offer support like your own family would offer support, which is great because it means that any worries you may have are heard and taken notice of.

I would recommend The Royal Marsden to anybody who has the choice. They are experts in their field and make the process of going through cancer so much easier than what I have experieced elsewhere.
