"It should be upto us to decide if we can't cope with gran's dementia"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Medicine (Wards 3, 4, 5 &46)

(as a relative),

My gran was in ward 21 royal infirmary glasgow. I felt because she has dementia, they blamed everything on her dementia. She was not eating or drinking, and she had a urine tract infection. I felt they tried to get our family to put gran into care for good. They were determined there was nothing wrong, just dementia. I feel dementia is a get out clause for medical professions. I think it should be up to families to decide if they can no longer cope. It seems to me that we as carers were being bullied into putting our loved one into care.
