My relative had a bleed on the brain and was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospial in Glasgow, from here he was transfered to Edinburgh where he underwent major surgery. He was sent back to Glasgow where he had more surgery on the his head. At short notice to the family he was transferred to the royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, he arrived here with no medical records and staff on the ward had no idea of his surgery.
On his arrival no food was made available for him, family had to strongly request that food was made available, to make matters worse staff were not aware that he could not feed himself. The total lack of care for my relative is extremely frightening and the risk of injury to him due to this was a worry to family members. As a relative living in Cornwall I am appalled at the Scottish NHS sytsem of care, I just hope that this story gets some action from those responsible for patients care.
