"Avoid at all costs!!!"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (London)

After having a horrible experience in the maternity during both births of my kids, I was sceptical to bring my dad here after he was suffering with severe stomach pains. After arriving in an ambulance and waiting in A+E for 2 hours while my dad was in a lot of pain and vomiting repeatedly we got called in. After accessing his case and determining that the pain isn’t normal, he got brought into one of the A+E assessment wards. 6 hours later at 1am, my mum and I decided we go home to get some sleep. While we were gone my dad got a CT scan done and no less than an hour later, a doctor came in while he was alone to tell him he had a “MASSIVE” mass in his stomach which has spread to his liver. Thank you especially to this doctor << (note the sarcasm) who decided to tell my dad this horrible news while alone for which he undoubtedly got upset by this. They also took a biopsy during his stay there. After 2 days and getting the pain under control finally, he was sent home without any pain medication or without no information about what sort of mass it was, was it cancerous or benign, no one told us. BUT the discharge papers he was sent home with basically implied that he has 2 type of different cancers but we wasnot told a single thing.. now fast forward a week later, we were expecting a phone call or letter to say about a clinic to find out about the results. I ring up after no news and was told by the receptionist in her own words “oh yes, I’ll make an appointment now for him”. Why wasn’t a appointment made as soon as he left the hospital???? I had to phone up (which took me 3 hours for someone to pick up the phone) and remind them about my dad.

Anyway we went to my dads appointment and got told he has got cancer, stage 3 (which was later altered to stage 4 by the oncologist a week later).. now another week later my dad was having a severe asthma attack and also was being treated for an chest infection beforehand. We basically had to convince them to keep him in because it seemed like they couldn’t be bothered to tend to his needs. We got the impression that they were thinking oh he’s got terminal cancer, let’s just send him home to suffer cause he’s going to die anyway. He was later sent home 18 hours later after arriving in A+E, yet my dad was still wheezy and breathless after each step he took but they acted like they didn’t care and discharged him.

How can a terminally ill man be treated this way??? It’s unbelievable the way these “doctors” treated my dad. Now after his bad experience here he never wants to come back despite the fact he’s currently in pain with his stomach again.

I had a bad experience in another part of this hospital and now my dad was unfortunately treated even worse than I..

I do not recommend this Hospital. They are heartless and without compassion..

P,s the nurses in this hospital needs to go on a course or something cause they have zero sympathy and zero respect.
