"Telephone call"

About: Basildon University Hospital

I worked as a receptionist and I am appalled at the ignorance uncaring treatment I get constantly when ringing the hospital operator. Unless you know the PIN number of the person or the dept extension no you Can never get through NEVER !!! I rang today .. and I was shocked that the phone was answered as it NEVER is normally. I asked to be put through to the doctor's Secretary s my swallowing is bad and I am choking. Before I finished she put me through to a number that asked for the persons pin no. She knew exactly that I did not have the pin no .... so she was just getting rid of me. This has gone on for months .. regarding different specialist .,.. THE SWITCH BOARD IS NOT DOING ITS JOB. The hospital board KNOW this happens. Why would you have a massive hospital BUT NO SWITCH BOARD OPERATOR... that’s prob why appointments don’t get cancelled causing massive financial problems ... because the public can’t get through !!!
