What I liked
I have mixed feelings in general about the staff in hospitals, and having spent quite some time in and out of them during the past several years, I feel I'm experienced enough to give a fair assessment. In general I think in most hospital environments you will come across some staff who are very professional and caring and some who are not - a sad fact of life.
I attended the hospital for an Occipital nerve blocking injection and saw the consultant, who is really lovely. Very down to earth and made me feel totally at ease by explaining everything before the procedure, during and after. I didn't feel rushed at all and they even apologised about the time of my appointment, because it was early morning!
What could be improved
On my particular visit everything went according to plan.
Anything else?
One thing that I find incredibly annoying is the fact that smoking is allowed in front of the main entrance to the hospital, whilst no smoking signs are clearly displayed. It angers me that I have to walk through someones' exhaled smoke to get into the hospital. I appreciate this isn't just exclusive to Salford Royal, but I really think it's time that the NHS in general took more positive steps to remedy this, - it makes a mockery of all the no smoking initiatives that are being banded about and the money that's being thrown into it!
"Perfectly acceptable. I wasn't disappointed on..."
