"Doctor is unhelpful"

About: Layton Medical Centre

firstly the receptionist refused to book an appointment for the patient so had to get the duty doctor to tell them the patient required an appointment. Even though the symptoms and the NHS 111 Clinical advisor (Nurse) clearly stated the patient required an appointment within 24 hours. Also, we have in writing from the GP saying that when ever a patient requires an emergency / same day Appointment they should be seen within 24 hours in line with government guidelines or at least a phone call within 48 hours.

Secondly, the GP said around 3 months ago she would do a referral to the consultant at hospital to see a urologist / a urology surgeon.

However during this period of time a complaint was raised regarding another member of staff. 3 months on requested an appointment A.S.A.P as the OOH Doc told us to see the GP A.S.A.P. However we had to wait 4 days for an emergency appointment.

the GP told patient the symptoms were probably psychological. And the back pain he'd had for years was also psychological as she couldn't find a cause

Saw the Spine surgeon at Alder Hey who re-did the X-RAY / scans of the thoracolumbar spine which clearly showed that the spine had collapsed even more and the surgeon said that the vertebrae was pressing on the spinal cord or the nerve so she would have to get a neurosurgeon to decide if to operate.

During the consultation the GP was questioned by the patient regarding the referral and she clearly stated she had done the referral even though i looked on the clinical records she had on her screen at the time which clearly showed she had not done the referral.
